How do I register?

First-time applicants with an engineering education should register online with NCEES to reserve a seat for the exam. Once you have registered, submit the FE or PE/SE Exam Approval Application and fee (deadline: Auguest 30). The applications include information required documentation.

To review the applications and requirements before registering online, download the FE Exam Approval Application or the PE/SE Exam Approval Application. For more information about the Arizona licensure process, click here.

First-time applicants with only work experience should apply directly to the Arizona board. (Requirements for experience are outlined in Arizona Rules R4-30-222 and -224). Once you have been notified by the Arizona board that you are approved, you may register online with NCEES for the exam (deadline: September 6).

Repeat applicants who have been approved by either NCEES or the Arizona board within the last five years should register online with NCEES (deadline: September 6).

Exam authorization

NCEES will e-mail you 2–3 weeks before the exam with a link to download and print your exam authorization notice. Read it carefully. You will be required to present this document along with a valid, government-issued photo ID upon arrival at the exam site.

Results

When results have been released to the Arizona board (typically 8–10 weeks after the exam) and validated, NCEES will send an e-mail informing you that your result can be accessed through your My NCEES account. The Arizona board will notify you of any state-specific exam results.
