Application instructions
Application guidelines
- Your name on your application should match your name as it appears on your academic records. If it does not, be sure to indicate any other names used.
- Make sure your contact information is current and accurate.
- List all postsecondary institutions attended in chronological order, including city and country.
- Include any coursework granting college-level academic credit (such as Advanced Placement, A-levels, International Baccalaureate, etc.)
- Do not include courses such as continuing education courses that did not grant academic credit
Payment
The online application allows you to pay using your credit card in a secure, SSLencrypted transaction. If you prefer to submit payment with a cashier's check or official bank check, print the confirmation screen that appears when you submit your application and mail it with your payment to

Completing your application
After you have submitted the online application and payment, you will receive an automated e-mail acknowledging receipt. Later, NCEES will contact you to provide you with
- your application number.
- a list of documents needed in order to complete your application, along with detailed instructions.
(Be sure to retain your application number in order to check your application status online.)
Incomplete applications
Incomplete applications become inactive 180 days after submission of the online application. Reactivation of an inactive application requires a $75 fee. Inactive applications are destroyed after one year of inactive status.
